I became a foster carer in 1985 with a love of children & a desire to make a difference.  I was a foster carer for 2 years before taking a long break with the arrival of more of my own children.  In 1995 my family was again ready to take up the challenge of fostering with Oz Child.  I have a total of 17 years experience, looking after over 60 children.  I have a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) and have combined part-time work with the care of both my own & fostered children.  In the many years I have been fostering I have seen a lot of good but also areas that definitely need improving.  Children need to be given the best opportunities to reach their full potential and carers need to be given the necessary supports to assist them in achieving this.
