The Victorian Government recognises the invaluable contribution carers provide to the community and this recognition was evident in the release of the Carer Card in July 2010.

The Carer Card is available to all unpaid primary carers in Victoria, including Carer Payment and Carer Allowance recipients, foster, respite and kinship carers. The card provides valuable discounts, ranging from travel and leisure, education and home maintenance to health and wellness, automotive and retail.

Included in the benefits of the card are, free public transport on Sundays along with two return off-peak rail vouchers for travel anywhere within Victoria. Carers can also enjoy discounted entries to Government venues such as zoos, museums and galleries.
