We invite you to join the Carer Assistance Program (CAP) team and gather with other foster and permanent carers.

These virtual therapeutic sessions will provide a safe space to meet with other carers and share stories, from your challenges to your successes. We hope to create an opportunity for you to be supported and foster connection and compassion.

We hope you’ll join us!

Session 1 / Exploring Challenging Behaviours and their Impact on Carer Wellbeing

This session took place on Tuesday, 28 April 2026 and the slides can be found here.

These slides from the session offer an exploration of what challenging behaviours look like, why they occur, and how they are connected to trauma and stress responses. Content focuses on practical, trauma-informed advice to support carers to respond effectively to children's needs, alongside reflective questions for maintaining personal wellbeing.

*Please note this is a standalone series of slides only; there is no accompanying visual or audio recording from this session. This is provided as a self-guided resource for carers to use at their own pace.
