Join FCAV as we create space and explore disenfranchised grief, an experience felt by many carers but often overlooked.

Many carers have or will experience grief and loss in the course of their caring journey and may feel their experience is not widely understood or validated. The nature of our care system can compound feelings of sadness and isolation, often making it difficult for carers to grieve openly, as their feelings of loss may be overlooked or minimised, particularly as a child moves to an alternate care arrangement.

The session will include:

  • Why is my experience of grief considered disenfranchised?

  • The dynamics of this grief and loss

  • Recognise ways it might impact us; and

  • Explore strategies in beginning to heal from loss.

Webinar details:

  • Date: Tuesday 13 May, 2025

  • Time: 1:00 - 2:00PM

  • Facilitators: Tonya Bavaro and Jake Iaria, Therapeutic Practitioners, from the Carer Assistance Program (CAP) at FCAV.

  • Where: Online
