Officeworks giveaway!

We know that children and young people in care thrive on the routine that education provides. Education is a critical pathway to support children and young people towards positive outcomes such as higher self-esteem, friendships, and opportunities for employment and higher education. It has been a challenging time for carers in relation to finances and managing the changed environment, including schooling at home.

The FCAV has 2 x $100 Officeworks giveaways to help with additional IT equipment and stationery for your home office and for the children and young people doing schooling online.

Aboriginal Art Colouring Book giveaway!

Research shows that active participation in art can energising, it redirects children's attention and influences emotion (Cathy A. Malchioi). Insecurely attached or traumatised children benefit from sensory experiences such as mindful drawing which assists the child, as you do it together, to form a secure attachment (Bowlby, Perry and Siegel).

We have 3 beautiful Aboriginal Art Colouring Books by Iluka Designs to giveaway! Check out their website and books here.

TIP: You can keep a copy of the child’s colouring in for the child’s Life Book or Cultural Support Plan!

To be in to win either of these prizes please email: competition@fcav.org.au and use the subject header ‘Aboriginal Art Colouring Book’ and in the body of the email tell us how art therapy has helped you. Or use the subject header ‘Officeworks giveaway’ and in the body of the email tell us what you need from Officeworks up to the value of $100.

Please include your name, phone, address and agency and email by 5 June 2020. Winners will be notified. Best of luck!
