Navigator Program, supporting young people to re-engage with education.

There are many challenges that young people face that make it difficult to go to school, such as having trouble concentrating, communicating with teachers or struggling with mental health.

When faced with these issues, young people often need more intensive support to overcome barriers and return to school.

The Navigator Program is a support available for young people 12-17 years who have or are at risk of disengaging from school.

The Navigator Program provides case management support to learners who are disengaged, to re-engage with an education or training pathway.

Navigator works intensively with young people, carers, families, schools and support networks to help young people overcome barriers and expand opportunities to successfully re-engage with a learning pathway.

The eligibility criteria includes; the learner being 12-17 years of age (inclusive), enrolled in/or intention to enrol in a Victorian education setting and has attended school 30% or less of the previous term.

An online referral can be completed by any party. Then consent of the parent/carer/guardian or mature minor and endorsement of School Principal is required to work with Navigator.
