The Petition to Increase the Care Allowance is a joint campaign led by the Foster Care Association of Victoria and Permanent Care & Adoptive Families. It represents all children, young people and carers in foster, kinship and permanent care. It also represents the young people receiving the Home Stretch and Better Futures independence package. This package is tied to level one of the Victorian Care Allowance and is now too low to keep pace with the cost of living. The result is further disadvantage for those who are already among the most vulnerable.
