Foster Care Week is an annual event which celebrates and raises awareness about foster care and the wonderful people providing care to the children and young people of Victoria who need them.

The events and celebrations held during foster care week aim to highlight and appreciate our valuable pool of foster carers and the contribution they make to the lives of vulnerable children and young people in our community.

This year's theme for Foster Care Week 14th - 20th September 2025  - “Time to Care”

Foster carers make Time to Care - knowing every moment matters in a child or young person's life. With fewer carers and increasing demands, now is the time to recognise, support, and strengthen foster care. Now, more than ever, it’s Time to Care.

See below for the growing 2025 Foster Care Week Carer Events Calendar.

Sunday, 21 September 1:45 - 4:45PM

As we step into Foster Care Week Victoria 2025, themed Time to Care—a heartfelt reminder it's your time to be celebrated and cared for.

LWB warmly invite our carers to our Paint & Sip afternoon on Sunday 21st September, where creativity, calm, and connection come together in a joyful, relaxed atmosphere. Art has a wonderful way of nourishing the soul—it helps us unwind, melt away stress, and just be present, enjoying moments of laughter and lightness with fellow carers who truly get it. You do not need to have an artistic bone in your body to participate, I promise, just come along and trust the process.

This is an adults-only event, designed to give you a restful, refreshing pause. If needed, please reach out to your support worker for assistance with babysitting or respite arrangements—we want every carer to have the opportunity to attend without worry.

RSVP by 31st August to your support staff and please let us know of any dietary requirements.
